Kiss The Girls; Make The Teachers Cry

.......[c]2006 by Richard L Zorek......1.11.06.....

Kansas City School District is not likely to ever get it. They have been unaccredited for awhile now. They applaud a superintendent that didn't help them....and paid him well, I might add. The school board is so fractioned that they rarely even have the same goal. The only thing that seems to be consistent is in the way they all blame someone else or something else for their problems. But, apparently they have more important things to battle. Like this week an 8th grader from Allen Village Middle School (a Westport Charter school) was sent home because a girl kissed him during lunch time. What a tragedy! And apparently the kiss was just done on a dare. These are kids, by the way, and they will do kid things. Maybe a good fist fight could have gotten them a little detention....but a kiss gets a suspension for three days. If I would have know that when I was in Middle School then I might have been kissing someone about every fourth day. But, this is Kansas City School District. The kids mother was correct when she asserted "It's easier to get rid of kids now than to work with them." But, then again, considering accreditation issues, kids may learn just as much on suspension as they are in the Kansas City School District schools.
